"I was diagnosed with Barrett's Oesophagus and told that there was nothing the medical profession can do for this condition except be treated with proton pump inhibitors and antacids. I was fortunate enough to find your website, and although there was no mention of Barrett's, I thought it was definitely worth a try. I am now on my 3rd bottle of The Other Option's Siberian Pine Nut Oil DIGESTIVE REMEDY. I can't express how great the improvement has been, so great in fact that I forget I take it and hence forget to take my other pills! There are no side effects either which is absolutely great. I have also suffered from chronic diarrhoea (due to stress) for 4 years, and that has improved dramatically too. I hardly have flatulence any more, and best of all, my appetite has returned! Thanks for your "miracle in a bottle!"

Barrett’s Oesophagus
What is Barrett’s Oesophagus / Barrett's Esophagus? Barrett's Oesophagus is a disorder in which the lining of the oesophagus (the tube that carries food from the throat to the stomach) is replaced by tissue similar to the lining of the intestine. Barrett's Oesophagus occurs due to chronic inflammation, the principal cause of the chronic inflammation is gastroesophageal reflux disease, GORD / GERD. Barrett’s Oesphagus is considered to be a premalignant condition because it is associated with an increased risk of esophageal cancer.
BARRETT'S OESOPHAGUS SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS
Patients with Barrett's Oesophagus have the symptoms of GERD. The general trend is that individuals with Barrett's have more severe GERD:
- Heartburn / Chest pain (a burning sensation behind the breastbone, usually in the lower half, but may extend all the way up to the throat. Sometimes, it is accompanied by burning or pain in the pit of the stomach just below where the breastbone ends)
- Sore throat
- Regurgitation (backup) of bitter tasting fluid is another common symptom.
- Nausea
Not all Barrett's have marked symptoms of GERD, and some patients are detected accidentally with minimal or no symptoms of GERD. The refluxed, regurgitated fluid occasionally may enter the lungs or the voice box, resulting in what are called extraesophageal symptoms of GERD. These symptoms include:
- Onset of adult asthma
- Frequent bronchitis
- Chronic cough
- Sore throats
- Hoarseness.
WHAT CAUSES BARRETT'S OESOPHAGUS?
In Barrett's Oesophagus normal tissue lining the oesophagus, the tube that carries food from the mouth to the stomach, changes to tissue that resembles the lining of the intestine. This occurs with the body's repeat attempt to heal acid damage. About 10%-15% of people with chronic symptoms of GERD develop Barrett's Oesophagus.
Patients with Barrett's usually have symptoms similar to those produced by chronic GERD, such as heartburn and reflux of stomach acid into the mouth. Some Barrett's patients may also suffer from other complications of GERD, such as oesophageal peptic ulcers and stricture - narrowing of the oesophagus that comes from scarring.
Natural treatment for Barrett's Oesophagus
The Other Option's DIGESTIVE REMEDY Siberian Pine Nut oil is an effective natural treatment for Barrett's Oesophagus as it acts as a powerful anti-inflammatory protecting and repairing the digestive mucosal lining from acid damage. DIGESTIVE REMEDY additionally stimulates the release of digestive hormones cholecystokinin (CCK) and GLP1 which are effective in the prevention of gastroesophageal reflux. DIGESTIVE REMEDY assists with the digestion of food, preventing fermentation which leads to the build up of gasses and alcohols which result in reflux and inflammation.
